Virgin Islands Economic Development Commission Governing Board Meeting to be held, two businesses scheduled for Public Hearing to Show Cause on October 16

VIEDC Board to hear presentations from representatives of healthcare management company and hotel on St. Thomas

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – October 12, 2018 – Kamal I. Latham, chief executive officer of the U.S. Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (USVIEDA), announces the following:

Governing Board Decision Meeting:  All interested persons are notified that in accordance with Virgin Islands law, (V.I. CODE ANN. tit. 1, § 254, as amended), a Governing Board Decision Meeting will be held for the Virgin Islands Economic Development Commission (“VIEDC”), a subsidiary entity of the USVIEDA, on applications and/or compliance matters.

This meeting will be conducted at 9A.M. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 via videoconference feed between 8000 Nisky Shopping Center, 2nd Fl., Suite No. 620, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands 00802; and No. 116 King St., Frederiksted, St. Croix, VI 00841. 

Please be advised that the USVIEDA Board of Directors and its subsidiary Board(s) may go into executive session with respect to any decision at any time during the meeting as provided by Virgin Islands law (1 V.I.C. § 254).

Public Hearing to Show Cause:   All interested persons are notified that the VIEDC will be holding a public hearing at 2P.M. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 for certain entities to show cause why tax exemption benefits should not be revoked, suspended, or modified for alleged violations of their VIEDC Certificate in accordance with Virgin Island law (29 V.I.C. § 722). 

This hearing will be held for the following two businesses at the same locations as the Governing Board Decision Meeting:
