Year-Round Outdoor Recreation

Recognized for its natural beauty and year-round pleasant climate, the U.S. Virgin Islands offers unmatched recreational opportunities including scenic hiking, boating, snorkeling, sailing and fishing.

The Territory is home to some of the world’s most breathtaking beaches. From the pebble-free sand and calm waters of Magens Bay Beach in St. Thomas, to the coral reefs and underwater snorkeling trails of Trunk Bay in St. John, and the Buck Island Reef National Monument on St. Croix, an underwater national park known as one of the finest marine gardens in the Caribbean sea, beaches in the USVI have something to offer everyone.

Boating and sailing in the USVI is an excellent way to explore the area; with plenty of islands and attractions to visit, there is always something new to see. The fishing waters in are some of the finest in the world for tuna, marlin, sailfish, kingfish and wahoo. Because the surrounding waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea are home to world and tournament record catches, the caliber of captains and charter boats is also world class.

The  Territory is also a world-class golf destination. From the scenic Buccaneer Golf Club on the grounds of an old sugar plantation, to the Carambola Golf Course located on the west end of the St. Croix to Mahogany Run on St. Thomas, the Territory is home to some of the world’s most beautiful golf courses.
