CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – March 3, 2014 - Percival E. Clouden, chief executive officer of the V.I. Economic Development Authority (VIEDA), announces the following:
Show Cause Hearing: The Economic Development Commission will hold a Show Cause Hearing on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at VIEDA’s offices at 8000 Nisky Shopping Center, Suite 620, St. Thomas, USVI; and via video conference feed at the William D. Roebuck Industrial Park, No. 4 Negro Bay, in Frederiksted, St. Croix, USVI, for five businesses on their certificates for tax exemption benefits. These companies are scheduled show cause why their tax exemption benefits should not be revoked, suspended, or modified for alleged violations of its Economic Development Commission Certificate.
Any interested person may appear and be heard provided that a written statement is submitted to the Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development Authority at least one (1) day prior to the hearing at the office of the U.S. Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority at No. 116 King St., Frederiksted, St. Croix, USVI 00840. Governing Board Decision Meeting: Following the Show Cause Hearing, the Economic Development Commission will hold a Governing Board Decision meeting. This meeting, which is continued from Friday, February 28, 2014, will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, immediately following the public hearing to show cause, in the VIEDA’s offices at 8000 Nisky Shopping Center, Suite 620, St. Thomas, USVI; and via video conference feed at the William D. Roebuck Industrial Park, No. 4 Negro Bay, in Frederiksted, St. Croix, USVI.
All interested persons are hereby notified in accordance with Section 254 Chapter 15 of Title 1, Virgin Islands Code, as amended.
Please be advised that the EDA Board of Directors, and its subsidiary Board, may go into executive session with respect to any decision at any time during the meetings as provided in Title 1 Virgin Islands Code Section 254(b).
