CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands - April 7, 2014 - The V.I. Economic Development Authority announces that the VIEDA's Economic Development Commission (EDC) has extended the pre-registration deadline for the 2014 Eligible Virgin Islands Suppliers Seminar to Tuesday, April 8, 2014. This extension will accommodate all certified EDC Eligible Virgin Islands Suppliers with another opportunity to register for this event.
The VIEDA’s EDC will host this seminar for businesses that are certified as Eligible Virgin Islands Suppliers on April 14 at the University of the Virgin Islands’ Great Hall on St. Croix, and on April 16 at the University of the Virgin Islands’ Administration and Conference Center (ACC) Building on St. Thomas. On both islands, registration will begin at noon followed by the general session that will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
A “Meet & Greet” Exhibition will also be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Attendees will learn how to participate in the procurement activities of companies under the EDC. The attendees will also have the opportunity to obtain information on the rules and regulations, and procurement procedures of the Economic Development Program. Eligible Virgin Islands Suppliers will also learn about compliance requirements and the available technical assistance that would assist them in promoting their business to EDC companies.
During the seminar, economic development practitioners from the VIEDA and other professionals from the V.I.'s public and private sector will deliver presentations on these topics: Economic Development and Lending Programs, The Intricacies of Hotel Procurement, Small Business Marketing Strategies, and Improving Project Management Skills.
All certified Eligible Virgin Islands Suppliers are encouraged to attend and network with other eligible suppliers from various industries.
