U.S. Virgin Islands Vision 2040 - 20 Year Economic Plan

What is Vision 2040?

The U.S. Virgin Islands Vision 2040 will facilitate economic growth, job creation, and wealth generation.  Vision 2040 will include a comprehensive, credible, collaborative, and community-based visioning process for a 20-year Vision for the economy of the Territory. 

Vision 2040 is an initiative of the Government of the U.S. Virgin Islands as announced by Governor Albert Bryan Jr. in his State of Territory Address here. The Plan will obtain feedback from the public sector, private sector, non-profit sector, a large portion of Virgin Islanders in the Territory, and many Virgin Islanders in the diaspora living off-island.  

In addition to a 20-year economic recovery and development strategy, it will include:

  • Target Competitive Industry Analysis;
  • Energy Sector Development Analysis;
  • Equity Capital Financing initiative promoting business growth; and
  • Global Marketing Campaign.  

Vision 2040 is aimed to address the various sectors in the Territory (STEAM):

  • Services
  • Technology
  • Energy
  • Agriculture
  • Manufacturing
