VIEDA to host Town Hall Meetings on St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands  –  January 23, 2020 -– U.S. Virgin Islands residents and business owners will have opportunities to learn about how the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA) facilitates economic opportunity and share their ideas and recommendations on how programs under the VIEDA can be improved for the USVI community at Town Hall meetings in January 2020 territory-wide.

Attendees will also have opportunities to ask questions and speak one-on-one with VIEDA team members.

Established since 2001, the VIEDA is a semi-autonomous governmental instrumentality responsible for the promotion of economic development in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Four entities exist under its umbrella:  the Economic Development Commission, Economic Development Bank, Economic Development Park Corporation and the Enterprise Zone Commission. VIEDA offices are located on St. Thomas and St. Croix.

VIEDA Chief Executive Officer Kamal I. Latham; Assistant Chief Executive Officer Wayne L. Biggs, Jr.; Managing Director, Economic Development, Margarita A. Benjamin and other team members will lead the Town Hall meetings with a discussion about economic development and the purpose of the VIEDA in the Territory.   Economic development practitioners from other VIEDA divisions will also be present to share information and answer questions about its programs and services.
