USVIEDA Delegation to Participate in "2019 SelectUSA Investment Summit" in Washington, DC

 

USVIEDA representatives to promote business opportunities in the U.S. Virgin Islands to foreign, domestic investors

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – June 7, 2019 – To attract new business investments to the U.S. Virgin Islands, and encourage potential investors to consider a United States territory in the Caribbean as a prime destination to operate their business, Kamal I. Latham, chief executive officer of the U.S. Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (USVIEDA), will lead a delegation of its economic development team at  the "2019 SelectUSA Investment Summit" from June 10 –12, 2019 in Washington, DC. 

During the summit, CEO Latham and the USVIEDA team will promote the U.S. Virgin Islands’ tax incentive program and business opportunities to attract new investors to the Territory.  The delegation will also include Margarita A. Benjamin, managing director, V.I. Economic Development Commission; and Shanell Petersen, managing director, Marketing & 2040 Vision, who will engage in several networking activities, especially at the Korea-USA Investment Forum hosted by the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency, KOTRA, the U.S. Embassy Seoul and NGA; and at the USVIEDA exhibition booth.

“Our team looks forward to promoting the U.S. Virgin Islands at the SelectUSA Investment Summit this year,” said Kamal I. Latham, USVIEDA chief executive officer.“As we continue to interact with potential global investors, our message remains clear that our Territory is ‘Open for Business’.”We certainly look forward to meeting with investors from various industries to discuss business development opportunities in the USVI,” added CEO Latham.

The USVIEDA delegation will promote the USVI as a key business development and investment destination with senior government officials, international and domestic investors, high-level corporate business executives and other thought leaders.   In May 2019, USVIEDA representatives participated in the Caribbean Hotel and Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS) in Miami, Florida; and the Houston Family Office and High Net Worth Conference in Houston, Texas.
