SBA and VIEDA to Co-host Free Spanish Webinar for US Virgin Islands Small Businesses Impacted by COVID-19

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands – The U.S. Small Business Administration will join the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority on Wednesday, April 29 at 10:00 AM, to conduct a Spanish webinar on SBA’s funding options available to U.S. Virgin Islands small businesses impacted by COVID-19.

“VIEDA is encouraged tremendously by the partnership of SBA and the Puerto Rico division to provide a webinar in Spanish for the Spanish-speaking business members,”  said Kamal I. Latham, VIEDA Chief Executive Officer. “Reaching all members of the business community is important to the resilience and sustainability of all Virgin Islanders. “

SBA Senior Area Manager Wayne Huddleston added: “The SBA works to reach every single USVI business owner with the information needed to help mitigate the impact of coronavirus on our economy. Thanks to our collaborative relationship with SBA team members in Puerto Rico, we are able ensure our Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs are kept fully informed.”

The free webinar titled, "How to Apply for SBA Funding", will begin at 10:00 AM on April 29, with a 45-minute presentation by SBA Economic Development Specialist Jorge Betancourt, and Disaster Public Affairs Specialist Germán Hernández.
