Local entrepreneurs to gain lessons in exporting with virtual training course

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – September 16, 2021 - To assist local entrepreneurs with learning how to globally market and export their products and services, the Enterprise Zone Commission (EZC) will host a free Export Training course for these entrepreneurs this weekend starting on Friday, September 17, 2021.

This training will be a 12-hour course that will focus on product classification, pricing products for export and using international terms for sale and export sale. Participants will also learn how to secure financing and insurance to export products and services and how to develop an export plan.

To register, interested entrepreneurs can send an email to the ezc@usvieda.org, or call 340-714-1700, ext. no. 1811. Registrants for this course, which is limited to 15 attendees, must attend all four (4) classes to complete the course.

Marchena Kean, managing director, Enterprise Zone Commission. “The U.S. Virgin Islands has a lot to offer and local talented entrepreneurs who have the desire to take their business to the next level and do business globally will receive the tools through this training to develop their knowledge about exporting,” added EZC Managing Director Marchena Kean.

This training course is funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration's State Trade Expansion Program (STEP). The Enterprise Zone Commission is an entity of the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority.
