“Made in the USVI” Pop-Up Shop to reopen on St. Thomas for the U.S. Virgin Islands 2020 holiday season

 

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – December 10, 2020 -- On St. Thomas, the holiday spirit will be magnified by U.S. Virgin Islands' talent through locally-made gifts from small manufacturers that will be available to USVI residents and visitors.

The Enterprise Zone Commission (EZC), an entity of the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA), in collaboration with the Virgin Islands Council on the Arts (VICA), an agency of the Government of the Virgin Islands within the V.I. Department of Planning and Natural Resources, will re-open the doors of the popular “Made in the USVI" Pop-Up Store.

This store will be located in the white building across from the Frederick Evangelical Lutheran Church on Norre Gade and facing Fort Christian in the vicinity of the Emancipation Garden in downtown Charlotte Amalie.

The "Made in the USVI" Pop-Up Store will be open from Monday through Friday from 9AM to 6PM, and on Saturdays from 9AM to 2PM. The store will be closed on Sundays.

"The VIEDA and VICA team members are definitely looking forward to hosting thirty (30) small manufacturers from St. Thomas who are creators of several USVI products within the spa, book, clothing and art industries - along with gift and home items - which will be featured at the store," said Nadine T. Marchena Kean, managing director, EZC. "The 'Made in the USVI' Pop-Up Store will also be a space full of many opportunities for artisans to safely collaborate and develop partnerships among themselves," added Mrs. Marchena Kean.

A “Made in the USVI” Pop-Up Store was also held this month on St. Croix.

Pop-Up Stores are short-term stores that temporarily established in an available space to allow customers to experience products of a business first-hand. 

To ensure the safety and health of the store’s vendors and patrons during this pandemic, masks are required and temperature checks will be taken at the door. Hand sanitizer and a hand-washing station will also be available.
