CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, USVI – July 8, 2015 – The V.I. Economic Development Authority (VIEDA) announces the following:
Public Hearing to Show Cause. A public hearing to show cause by the Economic Development Commission is scheduled for Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 9AM in the boardroom of the VIEDA’s office at 8000 Nisky Shopping Center, Suite 620, St. Thomas, USVI; and via video conference feed at the William D. Roebuck Economic Development Park, No. 4 Negro Bay, Building No. 2, in Frederiksted, St. Croix, USVI, for the following three businesses on their certificate regarding tax exemption benefits: Aggregate, Inc., Caribbean Reservations, Inc., and QT Investment Managers, LLLP.
Representatives of these companies will show cause why their tax exemption benefits should not be revoked, suspended, or modified for alleged violations of their Economic Development Commission Certificate (formerly the Industrial Development Commission or IDC).
Any interested person(s) may appear and be heard provided that a written statement is submitted to the Chief Executive Officer of the V.I. Economic Development Authority at least one (1) day prior to the hearing at the office of the U.S. Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority, No. 116 King St., Frederiksted, St. Croix, USVI. Governing Board Decision Meeting. The Economic Development Commission will be holding a Governing Board Decision Meeting on applications regarding tax exemptions from Diamond Rock Frenchman’s Owner, Inc., d/b/a Frenchman’s Reef and Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort; Leeward Capital Corporation; Perpetual Motion Management, LLC; and Spectrum Engineering Inc. A decision meeting will also be held by the VIEDA, V.I. Economic Development Park Corporation and the Economic Development Bank.This meeting will also be held at the same location as the Show Cause Hearing.
VIEDA Board of Directors and its subsidiary Board(s) may go into executive session with respect to any decision at any time during the meetings according to law.
