| “U.S. Virgin Islands Ranked Among The Top Ten In Four Categories |

The U.S. Virgin Islands was recently ranked among the top ten in four categories for foreign direct investment by fDi Magazine’s Caribbean and Central American Countries 2009/2010 competition. Various Caribbean and Central American countries that were submitted as entries for the competition were judged in the following categories: economic potential, business friendliness, fDi promotional strategy, infrastructure, quality of life, human resources and cost effectiveness.
Among those categories, the U.S. Virgin Islands ranked among the top ten in business friendliness (rank #7), fDi promotion strategy (rank #7), infrastructure (rank #8) and quality of life (rank #9).
The V.I. Economic Development Authority (VIEDA) submitted the application entry for the U.S. Virgin Islands in May this year. fDi Magazine published the award recognitions and rankings of several Caribbean and Central American countries in its August / September 2009 issue.
fDi Magazine is an English-language bi-monthly news and foreign direct investment publication that is owned by The Financial Times Business Group. This magazine, which is edited in London, UK, and has a circulation of over 15,000, was founded in 1843.
