VIEDA Board of Directors set to hear, decide on matters at Public Hearing, Board Meeting on May 23

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – May 19, 2023 - Wayne L. Biggs, Jr., chief executive officer of the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA), announces that a Public Hearing for the V.I. Economic Development Commission (VIEDC) will be held at 9AM on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. 

At the public hearing, VIEDC Board of Directors to hear presentations on the application submitted by Worldwide Tap, LLC.

Governor Bryan Issues Proclamation Granting Administrative Leave for St. Thomas Carnival

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Governor Albert Bryan Jr. has issued a proclamation granting administrative leave for non-essential government employees for upcoming events of the 2023 St. Thomas Carnival.

The theme for this year’s Carnival is “Illuminating our Culture for the World to See,” and this month the Territory will be celebrating the 71st anniversary of the Caribbean Region’s largest festivals, which attracts thousands of people to the USVI. This year’s Carnival Village is called “Pupa Kelly” in honor of Kelly Charleswell.
